editing and updating
existing Web pages

If you are basically satisfied with the Web pages you have online (especially the design), but you do have some revisions to make, the Web Page Editor will gladly assist you.

In editing and updating, we follow this basic process:

  1. Contact the Web Page Editor  so we can discuss your needs. Before we meet, you might

    • print out the Web pages you wish to update
    • write detailed notes or rough drafts for the text you want to post or update
    • label on the printouts where the changes are to go
  2. If warranted, the Web Page Editor will provide a proposal that states a maximum total estimate and a schedule for updating your Web page(s).  (Smaller projects may not necessitate such an agreement.)  If you accept the proposal, you will need to

  3. If you are comfortable with the idea, I find the situation sometimes benefits from having access codes that authorize the Web Page Editor to download the appropriate files, update the pages, and upload the revisions. This can occasionally cause the site to be out of sync for a short time. (Note that current backups should always be ready to load when changes are made to a live file, no matter who is making the changes.)

  4. the Web Page Editor will then edit your Web content and/or make the desired changes and updates to your Web text.
    • you will be allowed one set of follow-up changes without extra charge
    • additional changes may result in an extra hourly charge
  5. And, in practically no time, your Web pages are up to date and live again.

If you decide along the way that you just might want to consider making some design-related changes, you should refer to  this page, which outlines the design process.
